As I posted last week, Heather is having a Gluten-free Products Spotlight Holiday Edition from now through December 22. She is inviting all of us to join her in featuring gluten-free and allergy-free products every Monday. This week I think you may be a little surprised by my favorite gluten-free product, Vitol Egg Protein Powder.
This is the best protein powder I have ever tried, even before I had food restrictions. It is absolutely delicious. My friend, Kris, and I were talking about it last week at a park day, which inspired me to nominate it for this week’s spotlight. It tastes fantastic in any kind of shake, smoothie, or ice cream. Such a great alternative to dairy or soy protein. I can’t say enough good things about it.
Cheers, Kelly

Hi Kelly! Thank you so much for posting again! This is a great product for people to use, especially since it has bee pollen!
I posted just now about coconut oil and brown rice snaps. I think I might talk about honey garden’s next week because I just love their products. The elderberry tonic is such a great thing to take in the winter.
Rachel at the Crispy Cook is supposed to be posting as well, but it looks like she hasn’t yet.

Hi Heather! Coconut oil rocks! And I really need to get more elderberry tonic!

Thanks for the insight! I just meant it was a surprising nomination because it isn’t packaged gluten-free cookies or the like. I absolutely love Vitol Egg Protein Powder!

I have to agree about Vitol Egg Protein Powder. I have used it for two years. By the way the cheapest place to purchase it is at the website http://www.discountanabolics.com and the cost is 20.95 plus shipping. Hope this helps on price with the way the economy is.

Just wanted to warn everyone that my son had a severe allergic reaction to this protein powder this morning. He is 2 years old. We had to give Benadryl, use the Epi-pen, and rush to the ER. He doesn’t typically eat eggs (he is not interested in them), so we are not sure what he reacted to…the egg or the bee pollen. We are having him tested for allergies next week.
I just wanted everyone to know this in case you have any suspicion of allergies in your children or yourselves.
Frank Zen says
Well I think Bee Pollen isn’t recommended for young children anyway so I would suspect that it is the culprit…

Kelly,
The Vitol Egg Protein is now improved. They have added natural stevia which comes from the plant for taste. They also added 325 mg of potassium, which potassium counteracts sodium. This is good for women who have sodium problems. The New Improved Easy to Mix Formula is also new with Vitol. I had posted comments back in 2008, so consumers can read them

Hi Kelly!
I am thinking of trying Vitol egg protein powder to use after workouts. I remember seeing awhile back that eggs were bothering you. Are you still able to use this protein powder? Have you ever tried adding this to hot quinoa or gf oats for breakfast? I have tried a couple other egg white protein powders but they had a metallic taste, does the Vitol have a metallic taste at all? Thanks Kelly, looking forward to your response!
Kelly says
Wow Sophia, good memory! That was so long ago I forgot eggs were bothering me 🙂 I am fine with eggs now, and this is still my all-time favorite powder. We looooove it. No metallic taste. Yes, I mix it in porridge and it’s also great added to nut butter (I use Sunbutter and almond butter) to thicken them and you can even make them into balls to pop into your mouth.

Haha, thanks Kelly! For some reason, I always remember the little details! 🙂 Thank you for the suggestions, I am definitely going to order some this week! 🙂 So nice that it is so versatile too and sounds delicious in your recipes. 😀

Hi kelly!
I too- am obsessed with Vitol Protein! I create dthe most magnificant hot chocolate EVER!!!! You must try this!
1 cup almond milk
1 peppermint tea bag
cook for two minutes in the microwave.
take out tea bag and add 1 tsp. carob powder and mix well. add in 1 heaping tbsp vitol protein and mix again. nuke for 30 more seconds.
The best part is the protein turns into little balls that resemble the marshmellows in Nestles hot chocolate (remember that?)
Try it!
