People often ask me where I shop for groceries, which is why I put the links on the right hand side of my blog under, “Can’t find my ingredients…”
However, I’ve had a few people also ask me, but what do you buy from one store, and what do you buy from another? Good question. =) Here are my shopping lists for each store:
Vitamin Cottage (local organic health food store in CO), Door to Door Organics, & the farmers markets:
produce that I can’t get organic at Costco
Costco, organic:
rice
quinoa
chicken
frozen green beans
frozen cherries
apples
spinach
carrots
eggs
butter to make ghee
chicken broth
apple sauce
Costco, not organic:
MaraNatha almond butter
pineapple
San Pellegrino water
Izze Sparkling juice
iHerb (these are all links):
liquid Evening Primrose Oil, because Ashley needs tons of Omega 6 (surprisingly)

Thanks you for these great resources. These great ingredients can be expensive if not bought in bulk. I need to get a membership for Costco (one day).

Great list. Very helpful.
I buy much of the same at Costco…though now that we’re in the country…not sure what shopping is going to look like.

I called Azure Standard but they don’t travel to Dallas yet. They took my info and said if they get enough request they’ll make a trip. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to shop there.
iHerb is great – and so is Costco. I buy their almond butter, too. It’s fantastic. Actually, it sounds like our grocery carts are nearly identical. Except coffee…we drink coffee. I’ve been drinking less the last few days and hope to keep decreasing it until it’s eliminated.
Great list, Kelly.
Hugs,
Amy

Kelly you are such a blessing! My 12 yr old daughter & I check your blog almost every day for updates! We tell everyone we know about your first cookbook and we’re waiting on pins & needles for the second. We’ve bought 10 of the first book for friends! 🙂 I was so excited to see this shopping list! We use Azure Standard, too and love them! I wondered if the Raw Cacao you get from IHerb is better than Azure’s? We’ve been using the Earth Circle Organics Cacao from Azure, which is $12 for 16 oz (just a couple dollars less than IHerb). Blessings to you and your beautiful family!!

I buy my coconut oil from Glory Bee http://www.glorybee.com, organic, food grade 5-gallons $60 plus shipping. We gather a group and place a large order. Even the Tropical Traditions site says that it really isn’t necessary to buy organic as coconut oil is produced in area where pesticides are generally unheard of. And it all comes from a HOT region of the world, so cold pressing is silly. It has to be heated up to pour it into the various container sizes, and it was produced in a HOT region, resides in a HOT region and is not shipped in refrigerated shipping containers or refrigerated trucks. It gets heated in the shipping alone…
My 2 cents worth if you like…
Blessings,
~Mrs. R

I have become hooked on the vanilla creme stevtia you use so much in your cookbook. Yesterday I tried this vanilla stevia at a friend’s house. It was glycerine based instead of alcohol based, so it had a different texture but it was delicious and much less expensive than what I have been paying for flavored stevia. Have you ever tried this kind of stevia? If so, what is your opinion? I called the company and they told me it was the same nutritionally. The company sells all kinds of nutritional products much less expensive than even Amazon or Iherb. Here is the link: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/NWF128/ItemDetail?n=0

Katrina and Marissa, Thank you from my heart!
Mrs. R, I appreciate that, and I’m sure lots of readers here will too!
Stephanie, Wow. Thank you! That is the least expensive I’ve ever seen that type of stevia. And I love Now Foods. What a great find 🙂

I love vitacost.com. They ship for 4.99 for the entire order. You can also get many things by the case. They have food and hygiene products broken down by diets.
