This recipe makes six of these cute mini jars. I had trouble tying the bows, so I secured the ribbon to the back of the lid with a dap of hot glue—worked perfectly. I’m including recipe cards for you like I did with the granola. Since these jars are so much smaller I made the cards smaller too. I decorated mine with some retro paper (thanks Marcie!), but a holiday stamp would also be precious.
You can download and print this card (the file is 8.5 inches wide to fit your printer paper)

Super cute, Kelly! If I received one of these jars of homemade chocolate hazelnut spread as a gift, I’d be grateful for life. 🙂 No kidding.

Yum – I will have to make this! I am a dairy free sufferer so I will be enjoying this on toast – all hot and melty! 🙂

I love this idea, Kelly! I just learned that I’m not allergic to hazelnuts anymore (woot!) so the firs thing I did was make this spread… I had it bookmarked from way back. SO delicious. Thank you!!

Oh dear. I already eat Nutella from a spoon (or fork if no spoons clean) – now, I will be able to make it and eat it? I am scared, so scared. 😉

Made the “nutella” and it’s great! But when I tried to print the recipe carads, it printed 21 pages of your blog. Then when I tried to just print the one page, it does not come out full size. They print out really small and not big enough to attach to the gift. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Kelly!!
I love your gift ideas! And your gift decorating is so cute too!!
Are we “you” doing any more “Spunky Holiday” recipe roundups?? I saw we missed Thanksgiving and figured baby Ginger was taking up lots of time being so new and SO adorably cute!!
But will we do this for Christmas 2011 or should I look for this to start back up in 2012? Thanks!
Blessings, ~Mrs. R

Kelly, this looks absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for all your amazing work. Love both your cookbooks and blog. Such a blessing!
This is a funny question in April, but have you ever made any GF/DF lefse? My family is Norweigan and it was always part of our Christmas tradition, and I must say I am missing it these last few years now that I’m GF/DF. I was reminded of it when I saw some of your other Christmas posts with your family’s Scandinavian traditions; I figured you’d know what I mean when I say the word “lefse”. 🙂 Thanks again!

this is AMAZING. i’ve made a coffee version with chocolate covered coffee beans instead of the hazelnuts and it came out just as great. but the BEST tip i have is to put all the ingredients in a vitamix machine. my model has a soup setting that i have to run once or twice to get the chocolate melted and everything mixed together nicely. or just gradually put it up to the highest setting and run until it’s all blended nicely. and yes, i eat it with a spoon.
