You may remember that I made a cranberry orange variation of my espresso scones for our road trip. It’s a very easy substitution. Make these gluten free scones but omit the coffee and add 1/2 cup chopped dried cranberries, and 1 tablespoon orange zest.
It wasn’t long into our drive that I had the thought to crumble the scones to make cereal. YUM. We topped it with almond milk, and even though I had it almost every day I never got sick of it.
The last stop before our new home was Las Vegas, where we found one of the coolest playgrounds EVER. I rode the slide multiple times, and so did Zoe and Ashley. (Climbing up the ladders was also half the fun 🙂
So fun. But the best part of staying in Las Vegas was getting to spend time with good friends. Awesome. And making dinner together, and sitting around enjoyed each other’s company.
Oh. My. Goodness. when we got to our rental in Temecula guess what was waiting for us??? Our advance copy of The Paleo Chocolate Lovers’ Cookbook. Eeeek!!!!! (And here’s a sneak peak of our place in the photo too)
While we worked on the laptop by the pool today (did I seriously just say that?!) the comments were pouring in from friends receiving their advance copy of our book. I can’t tell you how crazy it feels. You have all these authors and bloggers who are like your own personal celebrities, and they get your book and gush over it??? Surreal. That’s all I can say. And exhilarating. And mind-blowing. And, well, you get the picture.

I was feeling a little bit disappointed–okay, a lot disappointed–that I wasn’t one of the folks who’d received your new cookbook and then, voila, today it showed up!! Woohoo! I want to make EVERYTHING!! What an amazing book, Kelly! Huge congrats, dear! 🙂
