The road trip book tour begins! I hope to see you!

Thanks so much to everyone who came to Patchwork this weekend! It was so great meeting you! We started off kind of away from all the action (as you can see above), ironically beside the bread stage. Then we moved, and our friends Mark and Beth hooked us up with this table and tent (below). We felt so professional! 🙂

There was no shortage of good things to eat. The only trouble was not buying everything!

As I’ve mentioned, we are really lucky to be staying with friends (many of whom we have never met face to face!) on this road trip / book tour. This weekend we stayed with Mark and Beth of Tasty Yummies. Here’s Beth and I on Sunday:

I must have drove over a nail loading up on Sunday, because Monday morning we woke to find that we had a flat tire. When we got to our friends’ house in Santa Clarita last night we replaced the spare tire (and actually we really needed all 4 new tires, so we got them).

Dinner last night was amazing. Our friends grilled tri-tip and chicken. They made roasted cauliflower and carrots, and a salad with tomatoes from their garden.

We ate on their patio by candlelight with a glass of red wine that went insanely well with dark chocolate. It was like a double date except for the 5 children 😉

This evening I will be signing books in Grover Beach (and staying with friends), and tomorrow evening we will be signing books in Capitola (and staying overnight with Arsy of Rubies and Radishes). I hope you come if you live nearby!
