Hi and happy summer! I’m typing furiously because one of my besties who hasn’t seen the new house is coming over right now, eek!! Can’t wait to see my girl and show her my home! 😀 Then tonight we are going to a vineyard to see A Bugs Life on the lawn with another bestie and her fam! Tomorrow Andrew has Comic-Con, and then we have a couples date in the evening. Saturday we leave for Palm Springs for Zoe’s 16th birthday weekend! Phew! Happy times!
But first I wanted to share my foyer remodel with you! I took the top photo at our final walkthrough before we closed on the house last fall. The middle photo (above), is after I added a Target floating shelf, photo, and plants. The door didn’t go with the rest of the house though. It was pretty orange, like the before photos of my kitchen HERE.
Last weekend I just couldn’t stand it any longer and I made time to paint the inside of the door. You know how hard it can be to find time, especially to do something you don’t like doing (I hate painting!). Like the kitchen, painting the door white has made the foyer SO much brighter! 🙂 I also added this Smith and Hawken Wreath, and layered my door mat with a rug that I pulled from my back patio. THIS eco-friendly jute rug is very similar. The heavy mat on top is from Costco.
I’m obsessed with all of the straw-colored natural materials I used. The foyer has a cohesive look now, that’s light and cozy. I love it so much!
The cuttings in my vase (from Home Goods) are from a ginormous plant in my master bedroom, called a Monstera Split Leaf. I got this plant because they’re super easy to keep, and the cuttings last 2 weeks or longer!
Have a fantastic weekend! xoxo
