It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with healthy fats. Coconut, hemp, avocado, avocado oil, avocado oil mayo, olives, olive oil, almond butter, cashew butter, 70% or higher dark chocolate… the list goes on and on. Fats make you feel satisfied, so much so that if you eat a meal that has little to no fat, you will find yourself still feeling hungry, and eating snacks after dinner, or wanting dessert all the time. But when you get plenty of good fat with your meal, then you feel satiated.
Growing up we had a LOT of dogs. I learned from a young age that giving the dogs oil on their food made their coats shiny and pretty. As an adult people often tell me that my skin looks healthy or that it “glows.” This has to do with my skin care routine, but a skin care routine alone can’t take all the credit. Drinking enough water, eating REAL food, and getting plenty of good fat is directly related to your skin, nails, and hair, just like ole Fido.
I created this super YUMMY meal shake for myself for times when I’m too busy or too tired to cook, and I thought you might enjoy it too, not that it needs to replace a meal. You could also have it for a snack or a healthy dessert. 😊
